The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode have urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing his ongoing reforms and economic policies as vital to national development.

According to a statement made available to The Media, the duo made the call on Saturday during an interfaith prayer session organised by The Mandate Movement in the Ikeja area of Lagos State to mark President Tinubu’s 74th birthday.

Obasa said the continuity of Tinubu’s administration beyond 2027 is essential to consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the President’s achievements place him in a strong position for a second term.

He noted that the prayer session was held not only for the President’s success in leading the country beyond 2027, but also for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, security and overall development.

He said Tinubu has shown visionary leadership through policies and reforms that are reshaping Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape.

The Speaker noted that initiatives such as the removal of fuel subsidy have boosted revenues for states, while the Nigeria Education Loan Fund has expanded access to higher education.

He also described the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway as one of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, with the potential to drive economic growth and tourism.

He commended the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her Renewed Hope Initiative, noting that its impact—through food distribution, agricultural support for women, economic empowerment programmes and digital learning centres—has provided relief to many Nigerians.
