Manchester City punished a costly error from Kepa Arrizabalaga to secure a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Kepa failed to deal with a cross from Rayan Cherki, allowing the ball to slip through his hands and present Nico O’Reilly with a simple opportunity to score.
O’Reilly doubled City’s lead just four minutes later, sealing the victory and confirming the club’s ninth League Cup title.
The triumph also marked a record fifth League Cup success for City manager Pep Guardiola, further cementing his legacy in English football.
