Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has cautioned convicted actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, against involving her children in his public statements, warning that she will pursue legal action if he continues.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Ojo addressed the actor directly, stating that her children were always under the supervision of nannies or her late mother and were never left unattended.
She further noted that her former business premises in Ilupeju, Lagos, had multiple staff members, including stylists, sales representatives, and apprentices, making it unlikely that she would personally run errands or leave her children without proper care.
“I honestly have no problem with you telling your side of the story. But take this as a notice to cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly,” she wrote.
Ojo also referenced the circumstances surrounding Baba Ijesha’s conviction, emphasising the gravity of the offence.
“You were a senior colleague, no more to it. However, that 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse. The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this,” she added.
The warning follows recent interviews granted by Baba Ijesha, in which he recounted past interactions with the actress and claimed she had once left her children, Festus and Priscilla, in his care during their childhood.
In the interviews, he expressed disappointment over their strained relationship, insisting he never intended harm and was hurt by Ojo’s public stance against him.
Ojo, however, reiterated her position, warning the actor to desist from mentioning her children in any public narrative.
“Stop mentioning their names or I will direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers,” she stated.
The exchange marks a fresh escalation in the ongoing tension between the two Nollywood figures following the actor’s conviction and subsequent public comments.
