The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated the newly elected national executives of the party following its recent convention in Abuja.

In a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, Oyebamiji commended the re-election of Nentawe Yilwatda and Ajibola Basiru as National Chairman and National Secretary respectively, expressing confidence in their ability to steer the party to greater heights.

The APC held its 8th National Convention in Abuja on Friday, where members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were elected. Both Yilwatda and Basiru emerged unopposed.

Oyebamiji described their re-election as a testament to their track record of service and leadership, noting that it would enable them to continue delivering transformative impact within the party and across the country.

He particularly lauded Basiru, a former senator representing Osun Central, describing his return as National Secretary as a welcome development and evidence of “quality service delivery and transformative leadership.”

According to Oyebamiji, Basiru’s re-election is not only beneficial to Osun State but also to the South-West and the wider Southern region.

“I am very elated about the successful completion of our party’s National Convention that took place in Abuja, where the leadership of the party emerged seamlessly,” the statement read.

The APC candidate expressed optimism that the new National Working Committee would strengthen the party’s structure and position it for future electoral successes.
