FIRE ENGULFS RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN OYO

Properties valued at millions of naira were destroyed in a fire that broke out in a residential building in Oyo town.
According to sources, the incident took place on Wednesday at Lane 6A, Gbenga Oyekola Scheme, Boroboro area of Oyo.
The media gathered that several valuable properties within the building were affected by the blaze.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident when contacted.
He stated that the agency received the report and promptly dispatched personnel to the scene.

Akinwande added that officers from the Federal Fire Service were also present to assist.
He further confirmed that no casualties were reported.
“Upon arrival, we found the last room on the left of a private four-bedroom residential flat on fire. Our fire crew acted swiftly to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the entire building and nearby properties,” he said.
