OGUN CP DISTRIBUTES N30.5M TO FAMILIES OF FALLEN OFFICERS

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, on Thursday disbursed N30,552,851.16 to the families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The presentation was part of the activities marking the fourth day of the ongoing National Police Week celebration.

According to a statement from DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the event took place at the command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Babaseyi noted that the funds were presented on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu.

“The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, on April 2, 2026, presented cheques to the families of officers who died in the line of duty.

Marking the fourth day of Police Week, the gesture was intended to honour the ultimate sacrifices of the fallen officers while providing financial support and reassurance to their bereaved families.

A total of ₦30,552,851.16 was disbursed to the beneficiaries. The presentation highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, reinforcing the enduring bond between the Force and its officers, both serving and fallen,” the statement said.

The police command stated that the initiative demonstrates the force’s ongoing commitment to acknowledging the sacrifices of officers in protecting lives and property nationwide.
