The All Progressives Congress has announced an extension of the deadline for the sale and submission of nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, made this known on Thursday while speaking with journalists in Abuja, stating that the sale of forms will now end at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026.
According to Hotjist, the ruling APC began the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on Tuesday for aspirants seeking to contest various positions in the 2027 general elections.
Based on the party’s initial timetable, the exercise was scheduled to run from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, 2026, but it eventually commenced three days later than originally planned.
Meseko explained that all other timelines remain unchanged, with only the sale and submission of forms extended.
He stated, “We just finished the 187th meeting of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress this day, Thursday, 30th of April, 2026. And we have some resolutions of the meeting.
“The sales of nomination and expression of interest forms for the offices under the APC for the forthcoming primaries have now been extended till midnight Monday, 4th of May, 2026.
“Sales of forms, which should have ended on Saturday, May 2nd for offices under the APC, have been extended till Monday, 4th. Submission of all forms for Houses of Assembly, Reps, Senate, Governorship and Presidential is now extended till midnight of Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, while screening will start on Wednesday, 6th May, 2026, for all offices.
“We expect all the relevant officers of the party and also aspirants to take note of this important development. As you know, we have a public holiday on Friday and that has been the reason to allow everybody because as at this afternoon we have been getting calls from stations that people want to buy form due to the public holiday.
“Other timelines remain the same. It is only the sales and submission of forms that have been extended.”
Meanwhile, stakeholders from Taraba State have secured the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Governor Agbu Kefas to contest the 2027 governorship election for a second term.
The forms were collected on Thursday in Abuja by a delegation comprising federal lawmakers, party officials, and other key stakeholders from the state.
Speaking after the exercise, on behalf of the delegation, Senator Haruna Manu said the move reflects strong backing for Kefas’ re-election bid, adding that “almost all major stakeholders” of the party in Taraba were present at the event.
He said, “We are here to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms for the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, as he seeks a second term, by the grace of God. As you can see, all key APC stakeholders in Taraba State are present. We have only come to pick up the forms.
“We informed some of them just about an hour ago, and I am confident the crowd will be even larger when we submit the forms on Monday. I want us to view this form beyond 2027.”
