The newly inaugurated National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has yet to resume at the party’s national secretariat.
Oshiomhole told party supporters soon after he took the oath of office in Abuja, on Sunday, that he was ready to resume work at 8am on Monday.
The party chairman had on Sunday said, “There are challenges, but we are ready.  And tomorrow, we will resume work because there is no time to waste.
“That is why we promptly swore in members of the National Working Committee. By 8.00am tomorrow, I am ready to take my seat and I know that my brother’s handing over note is ready.”
Party supporters, contractors and journalists trooped to the party headquarters early on Monday with the hope of catching a glimpse of the new helmsman at his desk.
They were, however, disappointed when as at 5:54pm there was no sign that he would be at the office as promised.
It was learnt that the chairman was at his campaign office holding a series of meetings with some of his aides. It was not clear why Oshiomhole did not resume at the office like he promised.
The situation was, however, different in the case of other elected members of the party’s National Working Committee.
The party’s new National Organising Secretary, Emma Ibediro, was among the first to visit the secretariat to inspect his new office.
He was accompanied by some of his supporters, Christian prayers were held inside the office and he posed for photographs before making his way out of the building.
Ibediro was the preferred candidate of the Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha for the position of the national working committee. He defeated his fellow Imo kinsman, Osita Izunaso, who was the incumbent.
