President Muhammadu Buhari began a three day visit to The Netherlands on Sunday. While there, he will participate in activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), at The Hague. On Monday, he held talks with the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte and CEOs of Dutch companies in Nigeria.

Trade and Investment promotion are an important part of the President’s travels. Earlier today he held a Roundtable meeting with Dutch CEOs: Heineken, Shell, FrieslandCampina, Vlisco, Julius Holland, Damen Shipyards, among others.

Mark Rutte says Nigeria is the Netherlands most important African trading partner. For example in the field of modernising agriculture there are opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutes.
