Umar Sani has stated that anxiety is mounting at the Supreme Court of Nigeria as parties await rulings in appeals involving the Peoples Democratic Party and the African Democratic Congress.

In a post shared on X on Thursday, Sani said legal representatives and court personnel had already gathered, while everyone awaited the arrival of a five-member panel of justices expected to rule on the cases.

He described the environment as tense and solemn, noting that many present were quietly praying as they awaited the court’s verdicts.

“We are gathered at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, awaiting the five-member panel that will hear the appeals involving the PDP and ADC. Lawyers representing the parties are arriving, while court officials and support staff are already present. The atmosphere is heavy with anticipation, as many offer prayers for favourable outcomes,” Sani stated.

According to him, supporters of the faction aligned with Taminu Turaki remain optimistic about the outcome and expressed hope that the justices would rule in line with justice and the rule of law.

The development comes as the Supreme Court prepares to issue judgments on disputes linked to leadership crises within both parties.

The ADC case, listed as SC/CV/180/2026, is scheduled for 2 p.m., while the hearing time for the PDP matter was not specified on the court docket.

The disputes stem from actions by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which declined to recognise certain individuals claiming leadership roles within the ADC, citing previous court decisions and ongoing litigation.

For the PDP, the apex court is expected to rule on an appeal seeking recognition of the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
