I NEVER SAID “GOD PUNISHED OYO APC ON MY BEHALF” – EX-MINISTER, SHITTU
Ex-Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has denied a statement attributed to him, which he was alleged to have made while on a radio programme.
Adebayo via a counter statement made available to hotjist.com said such utterance is false and never came from him.
He wrote;
“To whom it may concern
My attention has been drawn to the public misinterpretation of my fair statement on a radio program: “God punished Oyo State APC On My Behalf”.
It isn’t true and was never true that it meant what it appeared to be, even thus I acknowledge the fact that I was cheated in the just-concluded primary and general elections.
It was never a thing of joy to see our party lose the general election to the opposition, yet I still maintain the ground that intraparty injustice was the reason for our party’s failure in Oyo State, without over looking the poor representation of the past administration.
I implore all rumors and negative reporters to desist from false and unethical broadcasting and libelous acts.”
