FATHER WHO BEAT SON TO DEATH NOW IN POLICE CUSTODY

The Police in Niger have arrested Samaila Shuaibu for allegedly beating and torturing his six-year-old son, Habibu to death.
Alhaji Adamu Usman, The Comissioner of Police in Niger, confirmed the arrest in an interview with NAN in minna on Monday.
He said that the good Nigerian from Suleja Local Government Area, Niger, where the suspect resides, brought the matter to the police.
According to him, Shuaibu was giving has late son extral moral lessons at home but he eventually beats him to death because the child did not perform as expected of him.
He said that the suspect admitted that he tortured the child but never knew it would lead to death.
“We have since commenced an investigation into the case and suspect would be charged to court” the comissioner said.
Adamu also urged parents to desist from giving unnecessary punishment to children as those found doing that would be prosecuted.
