Ndidi and Musa were in action for Leicester City who lost 2-1 to Sevilla
Nigerian duo Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa were in action for Premier League Champions, Leicester City who lost 2-1 in Spain to experienced Sevilla in their first leg, round-of-16 UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
It was Ndidi’s first game in Europe for Leicester, while his compatriot, Musa was substituted off after 58 minutes.
Pablo Sarabia put home side in the lead in the 25th minute after heading in Sergio Escudero’s cross, while Joaquin Correa doubled the lead on 62 minutes, hitting the ball on the roof of the net after good hold-up play by Stevan Jovetic.
Leicester got a very high advantage going into the second leg when Jamie Vardy got to Danny Drinkwater’s low cross to make it 2-1 in the 73rd minute.
Leicester City goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel who showed outstanding performance, made a 14th minute penalty save off Correa.
The win over Leicester was Sevilla’s second against an English team in five Champions League clashes, their only win coming against Arsenal at home in November 2007.
