PSG SQUAD SPLIT AS PLAYERS GROW UNHAPPY WITH MBAPPE’S PRIVILEGED ROLE
Kylian Mbappe is reportedly at the centre of a PSG squad breakup and is rapidly losing the support of his teammates, with several of the players unhappy with his privileged role within the squad.
After sensationally turning down Real Madrid’s approaches, the French star signed a new contract with the clubĀ worth Ā£650,000 per weekĀ in the summer.
As part of the new deal, Mbappe was also handed influence over sporting affairs and the way the club is run.
Le Parisien reported earlier this week that Mbappe now wants to leave the club after feeling “betrayed” by the board. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped the discussion at the Parc des Princes as multiple dramas continue to engulf the club.
And now, according to a story in L’Equipe, the team’s animosity for Mbappe is growing.
According to reports, a number of his teammates are dissatisfied with the French star’s shifting demeanour, which makes Mbappe feel more and more alone inside the team with each passing week.
The PSG team is now divided, with Neymar and his south American teammates against Mbappe after the Brazilian learned of the Frenchman’s wish for the club to sell him in the summer. Neymar and Mbappe have hadĀ public tension with each other on severalĀ occassionsĀ already this season.
Similarly, centre-back Marquinhos and the Spanish speakers in the squad are also unhappy with Mbappe’s increased power.
Mbappe’s support base is constantly dwindling with the club’s star man now only having the support of his fellow french teammates Presnel Kimpembe, Nordi Mukiele and Hugo Ekitike, along with Achraf Hakimi.
