At least four persons are feared dead following separate cult-related clashes in different parts of Lagos State over the past week.

According to videos and photographs circulating online, the incidents occurred between Wednesday and Monday in several communities, including Iyana-Ipaja and Aboru in Alimosho Local Government Area; Badore and Olokonla in Ajah, Eti-Osa Local Government Area; as well as Onipanu near Fadeyi and Satellite Town.

In Badore, one person identified as Chidera was reportedly killed on Friday during a clash involving suspected members of the Eiye confraternity and a rival group.

Graphic videos obtained from Naija Confra, an anti-cultism platform, showed at least three persons with severe injuries in Iyana-Ipaja and Aboru, including deep cuts to the head and shoulders. In one clip, an injured person was seen pressing a blood-soaked cloth against a head wound. While the link to cult clashes could not be independently verified, other victims with serious injuries were also captured in the footage.

In Onipanu near Fadeyi, a man identified as Israel was reportedly shot dead in a video showing the victim moving after a gunshot to the head before being shot several more times by the assailants.

At Satellite Town, a man was found dead at the NEPA Junction last Wednesday, though it remains unclear whether his death was cult-related. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the Satellite Town killing as a suspected murder and said the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for further investigation.

Additionally, PUNCH Metro received reports of a killing on Monday morning at Baba Adisa Bus Stop, Ibeju-Lekki. The victim, identified as Alabama, was found lying motionless on the pavement. As of press time, the police had not officially confirmed this incident.

Mrs. Abimbola Adebisi, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, said investigations were ongoing. “The receipt of these incidents prompted me to reach out to all the DPOs in charge of the locations you mentioned. None confirmed the incidents, except the one at Satellite Town, which was confirmed as a suspected murder,” she stated.

Lagos police have continued to tackle cult-related violence across the state. Last year, at least 10 persons were killed within 10 days in similar incidents linked to confraternities.
