FOUR ALMAJIRI CHILDREN DIE OF SUSPECTED FOOD POISONING IN KANO

Four Almajiri, or Quranic students, have reportedly died in Kano State after consuming food suspected to have been contaminated.
The deceased were said to be students of Malam Iliyasu Mai Tsangaya, Kadage Sharifai, in Ungogo Local Government Area of the Kano Metropolitan Council.
According to a statement issued by the National Chairman of the Tsangaya Media Network, Alaramma Sani Musa Nuhu, the affected students were rushed to Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after they reportedly developed symptoms linked to suspected food poisoning.
However, the four students reportedly died at the hospital on Sunday night, August 16.
The statement did not specify the type of food consumed or identify the substance suspected to have caused the poisoning, leaving the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths unclear.
It added that the remains of the deceased were later buried after approval was obtained from the District Head, or Dagaci, and the police officer in charge of the area.
As of the time of filing this report, the police authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident or confirm the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
