I WAS PROMISED AUTOMATIC TICKET BEFORE JOINING APC- NED NWOKO

Ned Nwoko, the senator from Delta North, has said he doesn’t agree with the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Delta state. He thinks the process wasn’t fair or open. During an interview with on TV, Nwoko talked about how he’s unhappy with how the senatorial primary was handled, especially since Ifeanyi Okowa, who used to be the governor of Delta, was declared the winner.
He challenged the party to release full results and evidence from all other wards.
“I wouldn’t accept it. Because I have a mandate. I have a mandate by the people,” Nwoko said.
He insisted that he secured the majority of votes across the district and demanded comprehensive ward-by-ward results and videos to prove the authenticity of the declared outcome.
Nwoko said he defected to the APC based on specific assurances from party leaders, including Abdullahi Ganduje, former national chairman of the party.
According to him, the promises included automatic ticket, power-sharing arrangements, dissolution of the state executive committee, and integration of defectors into the party structure — promises he claimed were never fulfilled.
“I certainly was told before I came into the party that there would be an automatic ticket for me. Why would I leave just like that without ensuring that I have a secure something?,” he said.
Nwoko warned that he would reject any outcome upheld by the APC national leadership if it contradicts what he called the genuine mandate of party members at the grassroots.
