PASSENGER FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM ENUGU AIR FLIGHT
By Aishat Momoh. O.
A passenger was forcibly removed from an Enugu Air flight in an incident that has ignited widespread discussion online just weeks after the state-owned airline launched operations on July 7.
A viral video shows officials dragging a male passenger off the aircraft as onlookers shouted, with one voice heard saying, “Yes, yes, go down.” The passenger’s identity remains unknown, and the reason for the removal has not yet been disclosed.
Neither Enugu Air nor the passenger has issued an official statement, leaving the circumstances unclear.
The footage, which clearly shows the airline’s branding, has fueled debate about passenger rights and airline conduct in Nigeria.
The incident comes after other high-profile confrontations involving Nigerian airlines, including singer Comfort Emmanson’s clash with flight attendants on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, and a reported dispute involving Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde (K1 De Ultimate) and ValueJet Airlines at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Observers say the cases highlight growing concerns over tensions between airlines and passengers on domestic routes.
