Governor Ambode appoints Professor Fagbohun LASU Vice-Chancellor
A professor of Environmental Law, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, has been appointed the 8th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University.
Fagbohun, whose appointment had been approved by the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was the Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of Lagos, before the new job.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, in announcing the appointment on Wednesday, said, “Following the expiration of the tenure of Prof. John Obafunwa as the 7th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University on October 31, 2015, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Fidelis Njokanma, assumed the position of acting VC.”
He added that Fagbohun’s appointment was immediate.
Fagbohun was born on October 19, 1966 and hails from Akesan in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
He joined the Faculty of Law of the Lagos State University as an Assistant Lecturer in January 1991, and was appointed as an associate professor in 2004.
He studied Law at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and obtained Masters of Law at the University of Lagos, before attending the Obafemi Awolowo University for his doctorate.
