FIFA confirms it will not ban Nigeria
FIFA on Monday confirmed that it will not ban Nigeria after the federal government made it clear, it only recognises Amaju Pinnick-led executives as being in charge of football affairs in the country.
In a statement on its website, FIFA said, “In view of these circumstances, FIFA deems that the conditions set by the decision of the Bureau of the FIFA Council have now been met and consequently the suspension of the NFF will not take effect.
FIFA will continue to closely monitor the situation in order to ensure that FIFA’s rules and regulations are fully adhered to.”
Nigeria had been on the verge of being suspended from all football-related activities over squabbles over the leadership of the NFF between Chris Giwa and Amaju Pinnick.
