…… increment of staff welfare package from N400,000 to N1.4 million monthly

The Mayoress of the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has debunked a report making rounds on social media about her imposing a N650,000 Aso-ebi of her upcoming 50th birthday, on staff of the LCDA. She stated that the defamatory report is just a means to distract her from focusing on the new project at hand.

This allegations according to her, are completely false and baseless, as it is a deliberate attempt to blackmail, tarnish her reputation and also create unnecessary division within her administration.

The Mayoress made the clarification on Monday, during a press briefing at the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Secretariat, Ikosi-ketu as she vouched to get to the bottom of the issue by exposing those responsible for the false claims.

Recall that some days ago, there were reports making rounds on social media that the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abonlanle Bada had imposed a N650,000 Aso-Ebi on Council workers, supervisory councillors and some members of the community for her 50th birthday ceremony coming up in December.

She emphasized that there is no proof or formal invitation indicating that her staff are required to contribute financially towards her birthday celebration.

She stated that since the day she assumed office, her major priority is to see to the welfare and working conditions of the staff while increasing their monthly welfare package to N1.4 million from the former N400,000.

The LCDA chairperson added that she has also increased their bonus from N4,000 to N10,000 as a gesture to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of the staff in carrying out their duties. “Since assuming office as Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, I have prioritized the welfare and working conditions of the staff of thr Council. I have worked tirelessly to improve their working conditions and ensure that they feel valued and appreciated.

One of the first actions I took was to increase their monthly welfare package (paid through NULGE Ikosi-Isheri Branch) from N400,000 to N1.4 million, a significant increase that reflects their dedication and hard work. My administration constructed an ultra-modern and befitting administrative complex for the staff, a place they can truly be proud of and where they can carry out their duties efficiently and comfortably. In addition, I have increased their bonus from N4,000 to N10,000.”

The Mayoress added that she will take  appropriate legal action in order to unravel the situation at hand while, advising the press to exercise due diligence in their reportage by reporting facts and not fiction.

Mayoress Bada, however, announced her plan to give palliative support to citizens of the constituency very soon.

Comrade Kaka Temitope Oyinlomo, a staff of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Planning Committee Department, while speaking with the press stated that the Mayoress has been particular on maintaining peace in the community. She also clarified that the plot against her boss “is just a kind of character assassination”, while adding that it is false.

“I want to say that as the former chairman of new era group, the chairman has never for once compelled any staff member to buy any Aso-ebi for her birthday party coming up in December neither has she ever denied the staff of their welfarism.”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Bola Aderemi Council Manager of the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA said, “She never imposed a 650,000 naira cloth on her staff nor expect her staff to buy such, I did not even hear her mention anything about #650,000 cloth.”

Another staff; Comrade Alimi Kabir Oluwatobi, who is the newly appointed chairman of a three-member committee of the staff welfare scheme, seized the opportunity to debunk all allegations against the Chairman and Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, saying that she has never for once forced anybody or mentioned a cloth of N650,000 naira to any staff.
