
UPDATE: AGAIN, TROOPS OF 1 DIVISION NEUTRALIZE 3 TERRORISTS, RECOVER AK 47 RIFLE IN KADUNA
Positive outcomes are still being produced by the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army’s continuing clearance operation and operation Whirl Punch. Troops came into contact with terrorist and criminal groups on November 5, 2023, while conducting a clearance operation in the general vicinity of Maidaro, Ngade, Ahla, and Rikau Villages in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The terrorists fled when they saw the soldiers approaching, and two were neutralised while others fled with bullet wounds and left one motorbike behind.
Likewise, on November 5, 2023, military personnel conducted a covert operation in the vicinity of Tantatu and Antena general areas within Chikun Local Government. One terrorist was neutralised by the military during the operation, and they also took one AK-47 gun, one AK-47 magazine, seven rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and two cell phones.
Maj. Gen. VU Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, praised the troops for their incredible fortitude and tasked them with keeping up the pressure until all terrorists and criminals within the Division’s Area of Responsibility are eliminated. Additionally, he made a plea to the good people of Kaduna State to keep providing reliable and useful intelligence to the Nigerian Army and other security services.
