The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has initiated the training of chosen Youth Corps members to expedite National Identification Number (NIN) registration across all the wards in the federation.

A declaration by NIMC’s Director of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, indicated that the initiative forms a component of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at enrolling and distributing the NIN to all Nigerians and lawful residents within the briefest timeframe feasible.

Adegoke stated that NIMC has registered and distributed the NIN to more than 120 million Nigerians and lawful inhabitants, and aims to encompass inaccessible regions through the Ward Enrolment program.

The corps members selected are undergoing intensive training in preparation for the kick-off of the ward enrollment, the Commission said.

Consequently, Nigerians, most especially children below the age of 16 years, are encouraged by the initiative to enrol for the NIN in their respective wards. The program, NIMC observed, seeks to bring NIN registration nearer to the populace.

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, commended the assistance of President Tinubu in relation to the accomplishments of the NIMC mandate.

She also acknowledged the commendable endeavors of the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, along with the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigade-General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu.
