TROOPS ELIMINATE 10 BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, RETRIEVE WEAPONS

Forces of Operation Hadin Kai have incapacitated 10 Boko Haram militants during a recent assault on the insurgents’ stronghold between Rann and Gamboru Ngala, situated near the Nigerian-Cameroon frontier.
This occurred as the armed forces continued their eradication efforts in the Southern Lake Chad area.
Addressing the media in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, the Theatre Commander of the North-East Joint Task Force Operations Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, stated that numerous munitions were seized during the operations conducted in the border community of Manawaji.
Munitions such as anti-aircraft shells and artillery weapons presumed to have been pilfered in a prior assault on the Cameroon Defense Force were retrieved during the cleanup operations.
He said, “Our troops are intensifying sustained operations to clear the Southern lakes in the border communities.
In the course of this recent operation, the forces established contact with militants at a border settlement in Cameroon, Manawaji, located between Rann and Gamboru Ngala. They promptly confronted the militants, resulting in the neutralization of ten individuals, while numerous weapons and munitions, including anti-aircraft ordnance, were seized.
“We suspect the anti-aircraft ammunition was stolen in an earlier attack on Cameroon Defense Force positioned in Cameroon.”
Ngala is situated 154 kilometers from Maiduguri, whereas Rann, the administrative center of Kalabalge Local Government Area, lies 183 kilometers away; both are bordering communities adjacent to the peripheries of Lake Chad.
The theater commander, while commending the endeavors of the forces in reestablishing stability, especially in the Lake Chad area and the border communities, stated that the recent allocation of combat gear has enhanced the spirit of the troops and the theater would not relent until the final terrorist is neutralized in the region.
