TINUBU CONGRATULATES FAAN BOSS ON ELECTION AS ACI AFRICA VICE PRESIDENT

President Bola Tinubu on Friday extended his congratulations to the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Olubunmi Kuku, on her election as Vice-President of Airports Council International Africa.

Tinubu articulated his commendations through a statement endorsed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled ‘President Tinubu Congratulates FAAN Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku On Her Election As Vice-President Of ACI Africa. ’

Kuku’s election was affirmed during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, which took place in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 13, 2025. The assembly sessions concluded on Friday.

Tinubu commended FAAN’s initiatives in enhancing Nigeria’s aviation standards, which he remarked have garnered global acknowledgment.

“The President observes the ongoing endeavors and dedication of the FAAN management in ensuring that air transport in Nigeria is safe, efficient, and representative of the highest standards, which has attracted worldwide recognition and accolades,” the statement partly stated.

He further underscored Kuku’s leadership achievements within ACI, which represents airports globally.

Tinubu recognized the Managing Director’s leadership and insight, which led to her appointment as Regional Advisor for Africa prior to her becoming a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board,” it noted.

Founded in 1991, ACI serves as the global trade association for airports, comprised of over 2,000 members across 170 nations and territories. It develops policies, standards, and best practices for the aviation sector.
