The Peoples Democratic Party group supported by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has declared that Tuesday, November 18, 2025, will be the date of an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. Both sessions are set to take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, according to a notice posted on his X handle by the media assistant to the FCT minister, Lere Olayinka, and issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
As previously reported by HOTJIST NEWS, the PDP expelled a number of prominent members for alleged anti-party activities on Saturday at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. These members included Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu, and others.
Former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) Bode George made the proposal to expel them, and Bauchi State PDP Chairman Samaila Buga seconded it. The resolution was then put to a voice vote by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the chair of the PDP Governors’ Forum. Delegates overwhelmingly supported it, demonstrating the party’s determination to address internal dissension and anti-party behavior inside its ranks.
