The Kogi Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools across the state will resume on Monday, February 23, following the emergency mid-term break declared earlier this month.

The Kogi State Government had on February 3 ordered the indefinite closure of both public and private schools as a preventive measure against insecurity.

In a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja, the ministry’s Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Matthew Salami, directed school heads, parents and the general public to take note of the resumption date.

According to him, academic activities will continue as usual upon reopening, with both day and boarding students expected to return on the specified date.

“The announcement applies to all schools in the state, and the ministry appreciates the cooperation of students, parents and staff during the break,” Salami said, adding that further information would be communicated in due course.
