The approval was granted by Governor Mai Mala Buni and conveyed through a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service.

In the circular signed by the Head of Service, Abdullahi Shehu, the government stated that the revised schedule takes immediate effect and will remain in force throughout the fasting period.

“I am pleased to inform you that the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the adjustment of official working hours in the public service for the holy month of Ramadan,” the circular read.

Under the new arrangement, civil servants will resume work at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, official hours will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The government clarified that the adjustment applies strictly to the Ramadan period, after which normal working hours will resume immediately.
