POLICE DEPLOY PERSONNELS FOR COVENTION IN ADAMAWA

The Adamawa State Police Command has sent enough security staff and resources to make sure there is maximum safety for the 101st Annual National Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria. The event is planned to take place at the Covenant Ground in Demsa Local Government Area.
This information was shared in a statement released on Sunday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.
The statement said that the security plan is in place to protect the event “before, during, and after” the convention.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered “full security coverage” of the convention site and surrounding areas.
This includes things like regular patrols, managing crowds and traffic, checking who enters the area, and placing security teams in key spots to make sure the event runs smoothly and without problems.
The statement added that the command, in collaboration with other sister security agencies, has put in place “proactive measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property, preventing criminal activities, and maintaining public order throughout the period of the convention.”
The CP assured residents, delegates and visitors of the command’s “unwavering commitment to providing a safe and secure environment.”
He warned “miscreants who have no business with the activities” to keep their distance and urged members of the public to cooperate with security personnel, remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement to security agents.
According to the LCCN website, the church was founded in 1913 by the Danish branch of the Sudan United Mission under Dr Niels Bronnum and has grown to over 2.5 million members across the country. Its headquarters are in Numan, Adamawa State.
The 101st Annual National Convention is scheduled to be held from Feb. 25 to March 1, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 25 and ending at 1:00 a.m. on March 1 at the Covenant Ground, Demsa.
The command reiterated that it “remains dedicated to sustaining peace and ensuring the success of the convention.”
