TRUCK ACCIDENT CAUSES HEAVY TRAFFIC AT OTEDOLA BRIDGE ON LAGOS–IBADAN EXPRESSWAY

Motorists and other road users have been advised to take alternative routes following a truck accident on Wednesday morning at Otedola Bridge along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway inward Lagos.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m., resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area.
According to the agency, the truck, which was carrying two 20-foot containers, overturned and blocked about 90 per cent of the roadway, leaving only a single lane open for other motorists.
LASTMA officers have since been deployed to the scene to manage traffic flow and assist stranded motorists, while a recovery vehicle has been dispatched to evacuate the fallen truck and clear the road.
Authorities urged commuters heading toward Lagos to consider alternative routes while efforts are underway to remove the truck and restore normal traffic movement.
