President Bola Tinubu has extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims, urging them to sustain the values of piety, compassion, and unity beyond the Ramadan period.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President called on Nigerian Muslims to renew their commitment to both the nation and humanity as they mark the end of the holy month.

Tinubu encouraged the faithful to remain guided by the teachings of Ramadan, which emphasise piety, empathy, and unity among people.

“We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period,” he said.

The President also urged Muslims to extend kindness to the less privileged, regardless of religious differences, as a reflection of unity and shared humanity.

Meanwhile, as part of support efforts during the fasting season, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group of the President, has been directed to distribute rice across the country.

The Director-General of the group and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, made this known in a statement on Saturday, noting that the initiative was aimed at strengthening “national unity and demonstrating compassion during a period that holds deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians.”

Uzodinma added that the gesture reflects the president’s commitment to unity and care for citizens.

“Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another,” he said.
