A 44-year-old Nigerian woman, Nihinlolawa Agboro, and two of her children, Temiloluwa, 18, and Isaac, 22, have died in a tragic road accident in Texas, United States.

The incident occurred on Sunday, March 15, along U.S. Highway 90A in Fort Bend County, according to reports by Fox26Houston.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the crash happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. between Harlem Road and Pitts Road, involving a truck and a sport utility vehicle carrying five occupants.

Authorities said the truck lost control, crossed the median, and collided head-on with the oncoming SUV. The impact caused the truck to overturn and burst into flames, engulfing both vehicles.

Agboro and her two children were pronounced dead at the scene, while two other occupants of the SUV, a four-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. The truck driver was also taken to a medical facility and is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Officials said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, with early indications suggesting that alcohol may have been a contributing factor. Authorities added that charges are expected to be filed as the probe continues in collaboration with the district attorney’s office.

Meanwhile, family members and members of the Nigerian community in Texas have expressed grief over the tragic loss. A relative of the deceased, Lola Oni, described the incident as heartbreaking in a social media post, praying for the repose of their souls.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of condolences online, with many describing the loss as devastating to both the family and the wider Nigerian community abroad.
