The Defence Headquarters has reported that troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised numerous terrorists and thwarted a sophisticated drone-assisted attack during intensified operations in the North-East.

Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, gave the update on Friday in Abuja, covering military operations from March 13 to 19.

He said soldiers repelled a major terrorist assault in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, killing dozens of fighters, including senior commanders. Follow-up operations recovered 74 bodies and a large cache of weapons, including 38 AK-47 rifles, three PKT machine guns, and an RPG tube.

Troops also stopped multiple infiltration attempts across Bama, Gujba, and Kaga local government areas, arresting key logistics suppliers and informants. Coordinated air and ground operations repelled attacks in Baga, Damboa, Buratai, and Njimtilo, degrading ISWAP capabilities.
