Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Committee on Banking Regulations, has admitted that his father, Nasir El-Rufai, is not without shortcomings.
Nonetheless, Bello described the former Kaduna State governor as one of the finest administrators and credited him as the architect of modern development in the state.

He made the remarks in a personally signed statement issued to mark Eid al-Fitr.
According to him: “I was compelled to briefly return to address and debunk a blatant falsehood by an agency concerning our dear father, the former Governor of Kaduna, Mallam Nasir @elrufai.
“It has been deeply moving to witness the outpouring of support for Mallam’s honour, even from those who were not particularly close to him. May God bless you all.
“He is in good health and currently completing his books. In the course of human endeavours, every leader has their flaws, but many of us still regard him as one of the best.
“He remains the father of modern Kaduna and a highly capable administrator. During my last visit, I conveyed the many messages of support and goodwill he has received.
“Our priority remains Kaduna North, where my advisory team has implemented several initiatives for the benefit of the people. At the same time, we have remained focused on Ramadan and our father.”
