In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the governor commended the conduct of the convention, noting that it underscored the party’s unity and democratic strength. He described Yilwatda’s emergence as a testament to his effective leadership since assuming office in July 2025.
Abiodun expressed optimism that the newly constituted NWC would steer the party towards greater accomplishments, particularly as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that the transparent process that produced the party’s leadership further reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to democratic principles and good governance.
