RESIDENTS MOURN AS WOMAN’S BODY DISCOVERED DUMPED IN JOS SOUTH RIVER

Residents of the Bukuru Low-cost community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State were left in shock and mourning on Tuesday after the body of a woman was found dumped in a river in the area.
The discovery was made by locals who gathered at the riverbank, expressing disbelief over the disturbing incident. A video circulating online showed residents retrieving the woman’s corpse from the water.
One of the residents, Tina Gabriel, confirmed the killing, describing it as a horrifying act carried out by unknown individuals. She expressed outrage, noting that such an incident was unprecedented in the community.
Another resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, also condemned the act and called for justice, insisting that those responsible must be identified and punished.
He added that the police had been informed and had begun investigations to establish the victim’s identity and track down the perpetrators. According to him, officers arrived at the scene after the discovery, and the body was subsequently taken to a mortuary for further examination.
As of the time of filing this report, the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, had yet to respond to inquiries seeking official confirmation of the incident.
