TRUMP REPLACES PAM BONDI AS ATTORNEY GENERAL, APPOINTS TODD BLANCHE ACTING AG

Pam Bondi has been removed as Attorney General, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday via Truth Social.

In his statement, Trump commended Bondi’s service, noting that she would be transitioning to a new role in the private sector, with further details to be announced soon.

He also disclosed that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will assume the position of Acting Attorney General.

Reacting to the development, Blanche praised Bondi for her leadership, describing her tenure as marked by strength and conviction.

Pam Bondi faced criticism from both Republican and Democratic lawmakers during her tenure as Attorney General.

Prior to President Donald Trump’s announcement, The Associated Press reported that he had considered replacing her, citing concerns over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files as well as her approach to prosecuting individuals viewed as his political opponents.

Democrats have likewise criticized Bondi, alleging that she lacked independence and acted in alignment with the president’s agenda.

Pam Bondi has been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee regarding the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The department has been accused of withholding documents, improperly redacting sensitive information, and censoring material that lawmakers say should have been disclosed.

“She will not escape accountability and remains legally obligated to appear before our Committee under oath. She must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files,” said House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

In February, Bondi faced tense exchanges with lawmakers during her testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on multiple issues. She repeatedly clashed with Democrats, defending both President Trump and her record as attorney general.

“You sit here and you attack the president and I’m not going to have it,” Bondi said. “I am not going to put up with it.”

After the hearing, Trump praised Bondi, describing her as “fantastic.”
