Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of former Bayero University Kano Vice-Chancellor and ex-INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has passed away.
In a statement posted on its official social media platforms, Bayero University announced her death, saying, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega.”

The university stated that her Janazah prayer would be held after Zuhr at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
BUK also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, forgive her shortcomings, and give her family the strength and patience to bear the loss.
