His declaration comes shortly after APC stakeholders in Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State endorsed him as their preferred candidate during a high-level meeting attended by key political figures across the constituency.
Speaking at the meeting, council chairman Usman Na-Lado described the endorsement as a collective decision, noting that Yusuf’s candidacy was backed by his perceived capability and acceptance within the party.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dikko Radda as the APC’s candidates for the 2027 presidential and governorship elections.
Sources within the party indicated that Yusuf Buhari’s endorsement may have been influenced by Governor Radda, describing him as the governor’s preferred candidate.
