OLUBADAN UNVEILS IBADAN COMMUNITY GUARD FOR CITY SECURITY

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, started the Ibadan Community Guard on Tuesday. This group will work together with security agencies to help police the 11 Local Government Areas that make up Ibadan.
Alongside this, the Ibadan Economic Investment and Business Development Desk and the Ibadan Food Security Initiative, also known as Gaari Ibadan, were also launched during the event.
The ceremony took place at the Olubadan’s Palace, Oke Aremo, located in the Ibadan North Local Government Area. The Community Guard will be placed in all 11 Local Government Areas of Ibadan.
The inauguration was necessitated by the prevailing security challenge in some of the council areas.
The occasion had in attendance members of Olubadan-In-Council, former Minister of Industry and Iyalaje Iyalode of Ibadanland, Onikepo Akande, Dotun Sanusi and President General, Central Council of Ibadanland, Ajeniyi Ajewole and a host of others.
