
JUST IN: TROOPS RESCUE SIX OUT OF KIDNAPPED FEMALE UNDERGRADUATES IN ZAMFARA
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued six out of the female undergraduates of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara; that were kidnapped by bandits in the early hours of Friday.
In the early hours of Friday, armed bandits invaded the undergraduate hostels of Federal University Gusau, FUG, in the Sabin Gida area of Zamfara State and abducted an indeterminate number of female students.
According to accounts from the locals, the victims were many, “no one knows how many of them were abducted.
“As I speak with you, many of the female students were kidnapped by the bandits except those who narrowly escaped.
“We are yet to confirm the number of students kidnapped but the bandits entered three hostels and kidnapped all the students living there.
“It is difficult to ascertain their numbers now.”
Another source in the area said that the bandits engaged troops from the Nigerian Army in a fierce gun battle, but it did not stop the bandits from fleeing with the kidnapped victims.
The source said: “In fact, it was a terrible and serious battle between the armed bandits and the Nigerian Army troops. Yet the bandits managed to escape with the kidnapped victims.”
