NAIJA @64: FG DECLARES TUESDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, public holiday to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the country’s independence.

This was revealed in a statement released in Abuja on Saturday by the Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, communicated by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s permanent secretary.

Tunji-Ojo celebrated the milestone with Nigerians both domestically and internationally.

The minister praised the perseverant and diligent men and women of Nigeria, emphasizing that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.

He emphasized that in order for Nigerians to be motivated for the challenges ahead, they must consider the sacrifices made by their forebears.

As the minister wished Nigerians a joyous holiday, implored them to stay firm in their nation-building efforts.
