POLICE TO ARRAIGN THREE SUSPECTS OVER OSUN COMMUNAL CLASH
The police in Osun State said it has arrested three suspects in connection to the communal clash that has rocked the Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun communities in the state.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the police in the state, Adeoye Adeola, said the three suspects would be charged in court for diligent prosecution upon the conclusion of investigation.
The animosities between Ifon and Ilobu towns reappeared recently, and spread to Erin-Osun, leading to murder, arson, and destruction of properties.
Adeola said, “The Osun State Command led by CP Mohammed Umar Abba has ordered the deployment of officers and men to the warring areas to restore peace, law, and order in accordance with its primary duty of protecting lives and properties.
“The Command in collaboration with personnel of other Sister Security Agencies will do everything humanly possible to prevent further bloodshed and breakdown of law and order through strict enforcement of the 24-hours curfew declared by the Executive Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke in the areas affected.
“So far, three (3) suspects have been arrested in breach of the curfew armed with a Dane gun. A thorough investigation will be conducted and the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution accordingly.
“The Command is equally monitoring the situation closely to fishing out all the trouble makers and their sponsors to ensure that they face the wrath of the law.”

SECURITY PERSONNELS NEUTRALIZES SCORES OF ISWAP/BOKO HARAM ,REPEL ATTACKS IN BORNO
By Tejiri Oghene After attacks on military installations in Buratai (Biu Local Government Area) and Mallam Fatori (Abadam LGA) were thwarted, the Nigerian Army stated that forces had neutralized a large number of terrorists connected to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The attack on Buratai began early Thursday morning when terrorists tried to enter the town from several different angles, according to military sources. Nonetheless, vigilant soldiers retaliated with intense fire, aided by Operation Hadin Kai's Air Component's precision airstrikes. The army said that mop up efforts were still taking on in the region and that "troops uncovered many deceased bodies of terrorists and recovered a substantial cache of varied weaponry and ammunition." A coordinated attack on Mallam Fatori was launched by another set of terrorists at the same time, but they were similarly thwarted by superior firepower from ground forces and air assistance. Unable to continue the firefight, the rebels reportedly ran away in confusion, with many of them being shot during the chase.
