JUST IN: TINUBU RECEIVES ALAAFIN OF OYO AT ASO ROCK

Oba Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo, was received by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Since his coronation on April 12, 2025, this is the monarch’s first formal encounter with Tinubu.
Following Jumaat prayers on Friday afternoon, the monarch arrived at the villa and was escorted inside shortly after the president’s private meeting with National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu and service leaders.
Tinubu, speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima, had asked Owoade to “foster the unity of the Yoruba nation and strengthen the bonds holding Nigeria together” during his coronation in Oyo town.
