KYLIAN MBAPPE ACCUSES PSG OF MORAL HARASSMENT AS LEGAL BATTLE DEEPENS

French football star Kylian Mbappe has filed a legal complaint against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), accusing them of moral harassment, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed on Thursday. An official investigation has now been opened into the allegations.
The latest legal twist follows an ongoing dispute over €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, which Mbappe claims PSG has yet to settle. The conflict stems from the 2023–24 season, during which Mbappe alleges the club deliberately sidelined him after he declined to sign a contract extension.
Mbappe was excluded from PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia in 2023 and made to train separately with players the club intended to sell—a move the France international views as retaliatory. He also missed the opening match of that season before returning to the squad following behind-the-scenes discussions.
The French players’ union had previously raised concerns over similar treatment of other players, filing a complaint last year over what it described as coercive practices by clubs seeking to pressure players into contract agreements.
Mbappe, now 26, left PSG for Real Madrid this summer after seven prolific years in Paris. During his time at the club, he scored 256 goals in 308 appearances. Ironically, PSG clinched their first-ever UEFA Champions League title shortly after his departure.
The legal proceedings could set a significant precedent in player-club relations and contractual rights in professional football.
