The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the successful neutralisation of scores of terrorists in Niger State through targeted airstrikes conducted under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, the precision strikes were carried out between June 24 and 26, 2025, based on credible intelligence and in coordination with ground troops.
The operations were launched in response to recent terrorist attacks and cattle rustling activities in Kakihun and Kumbashi communities, where armed elements had been threatening lives and disrupting livelihoods.
“Swiftly deploying air assets, the Air Component executed multiple waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistics, and disrupted regrouping efforts,” the statement read.
The NAF emphasized that the operation showcased its professionalism, rapid response capability, and effective inter-service and inter-agency coordination with ground forces and other security bodies.
Reaffirming the Air Force’s resolve, Ejodame stated, “The Nigerian Air Force remains resolutely committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians and ensuring lasting peace across the country.”
Operation FANSAN YAMMA continues as part of Nigeria’s broader counterterrorism strategy aimed at dismantling terrorist networks in the North-Central region and beyond.
