NOA SEEKS CSOs’ PARTNERSHIP TO SENSITIZE NIGERIANS

The National Orientation Agency has urged civil society organizations in Kogi State to collaborate with the agency in educating the populace about government policies and initiatives.
The North Central Zonal Director of NOA, Dr. Priscilla Gondoalour, conveyed this appeal during a meeting with the Kogi State NGO Network on Friday in Lokoja.
“The significant role that civil society organizations play in national development is well recognized,” she stated.

She advocated for a strong working relationship between both entities, emphasizing the necessity for civil society organizations to assist in fostering security awareness and alerting the public, particularly in the North Central Zone, which has experienced considerable insecurity.
In response, the Chairman of KONGONET, Hamza Aliyu, expressed gratitude for the zonal director’s acknowledgment of the role of civil society organizations in nation-building and assured her of the organization’s dedication to effective collaboration and support.
Earlier, the State Director of NOA, Mr. Patrick Edogbonya, remarked that the zonal director’s visit aimed to enhance partnerships with NGOs to propel national advancement.
In a complementary engagement, Gondoalour also met with the Association of Heads of Federal Establishment (AHFE) in Kogi to fortify collaboration with NOA.
She urged ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to implement awareness strategies to inform the public about government activities.
She underscored the necessity of a strong partnership with NOA to fulfill the mandate of sensitizing the public on government policies and programs.
Responding, the Chairman of AHFE, Mr. Gabriel Audu, guaranteed the NOA zonal director of the association’s willingness to partner with NOA, especially in promoting security awareness.
Audu expressed gratitude to Gondoalour for emphasizing security tips and reiterated that security is a collective responsibility.
The NOA zonal director visited Kogi State to garner support from stakeholders for the Federal Government’s initiatives and programs.
