The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the release of 130 hectares of land for the construction of the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port along the Epe/Mojoda Expressway.

According to a statement by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Tayo Mabeweje, the allocation follows the Federal Government’s approval of the project after a request by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

The statement noted that the project would serve as a major cargo consolidation and distribution hub for the South-West region, helping to decongest the Lagos Port System, boost trade and logistics competitiveness, create jobs, and open new economic opportunities.

Governor Abiodun described the development as a critical milestone in his administration’s drive to transform Ogun into a logistics and economic powerhouse. He added that the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port, alongside the newly certified Gateway International Airport, would accelerate industrialisation and regional competitiveness.

“With the Kajola Inland Dry Port secured for the Ogun Central Industrial Cluster and now the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port for the Eastern corridor, we are strategically balancing industrial growth across our three Senatorial Districts, ensuring equity and sustainable development,” the governor said.

The statement further highlighted that the projects were part of Abiodun’s broader vision to deliver modern infrastructure, attract investments, and position Ogun State as a hub for trade, aviation, and tourism.
