VIDEO: WIKE VOTES IN RIVERS LG ELECTION

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday participated in the ongoing local government elections in Rivers State by casting his vote.
A video circulating on social media captured the former governor of the state exercising his franchise at Polling Unit 007, Ward 9, located in the Rumuepirikom community of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Security agencies have been deployed in large numbers across Rivers State as residents turn out to vote in the council elections.
The polls are being held in all 23 local government areas, covering 319 wards and 6,866 polling units.
This comes six months after the Supreme Court annulled the October 2024 council elections conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
