EDO ASSEMBLY HONOURED WITH INVITATION TO OBA EWUARE II’S 9TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY THANKSGIVING

Preparations are in top gear for the 9th coronation anniversary of the Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, as the thanksgiving event committee on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State House of Assembly.

The delegation, led by the Ohen-Osa of the Holy Aruosa Cathedral, Igbinoghodua Edebiri, was received by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, and other members of the House.

Chairman of the committee, Osayande Osaretin, congratulated the 8th Assembly for the peaceful conduct of its affairs, noting that the visit was to formally invite the Speaker and members to the thanksgiving event slated for October 26, 2025. He said the ceremony, which is a major highlight of the coronation festivities, promises to be a grand celebration this year.

Responding, the Speaker expressed appreciation to the Ohen-Osa and his team, assuring them that the Assembly holds the revered Benin monarch in high esteem. He pledged the participation and support of lawmakers towards the success of the thanksgiving.

The visit also featured the presentation of the official invitation and a brochure of last year’s celebration to the Speaker.
